Hi, Elizabeth!
I found the information below about how to deal with panic attacks and want to share it with you. Hope it’ll will be helpful.
The tips are:
-Diet
The more balanced your diet the easier it is for your mind/body relationship to feel strong and secure. There are certain foods that are good at building inner calm and other ones that you need to avoid.
-Exercise
Besides the obvious health and relaxation benefits‚ exercise gives you a sample of what it is like to put your body into an exerted state just as if you were having a panic attack. This way you can learn to become comfortable with the heightened state of exertion without fearing that your body will not be able to handle it.
-Distraction
General anxiety is experienced by many people with panic and anxiety disorders. Distraction helps you to retrain your focus and keep your attention on what is going on around you.
-Elimination anxious thoughts
All people who have ended panic and anxiety in their lives have in some way either intentionally or unintentionally re–trained themselves to think in a positive constructive manner rather than negative spirals of anxious thought.
panic attacks typically occur once you feel like you are out of control. your heart probably starts beating abnormally, and it becomes hard to breathe. in worse cases, dizziness maybe.
first of all, you need to feel that you are in control of something. even if it’s not the actual situation.
practice some breathing and relaxation exercises when you’re home and everything is calm. play a song that calms you down. make yourself comfortable in that state, and try to remember it when you start feeling nervous or stressed or out of control.
take a step back, and think of how you felt during your breathing exercises. try to imagine your weight sinking through the floor away from you, so you are light and loose.
and one of the most helpful things you can do is start singing that song you were playing early.
hum it, or sing it in your head. concentrate on that, and remember that feeling of being relaxed and calm.
remember deep breaths, and no muscle tension. just concentrate on that song and that calm feeling.
you are now in control of how you feel, how you are breathing, and the song in your head. nobody can change that, or control it for you.
i know this all sounds silly, but my best friend has panic attacks a lot too. i’m a psychology major and i had her practice these relaxing techniques, and it actually helped her lot.
Depending on how long you have had them and your age would be nice to know. I am not a doctor nor a student in any medical field. I started having "Panic attacks" in my late 30s. Untill I found out what I was REALLY afraid of I did the same thing your doing, asking and trying to fix it yourself. You need to work with somebody who has been thru what you are going thru to find security in your life. I can give you a hint as to what your biggest "FEAR" is. Its life itself. Good luck, I have been "fearless" for 8 years now I hope you can be as happy as I am someday.
panic attacks is rather complicated if not adopted effective Treatment, It can trigger the growth of stress and anxiety within you. Panic attacks or anxiety is related to stress and unstable mind. It gives you a deep feeling of insanity and clashing of certain things that disturbs and distracts your mind completely.
So you can do follow certain steps as diverting your mind to other things that will make you feel relaxed is a good option to deal with panic attack. If you realize yourself ending up in frustration and get a typical phobia of things turning out wrong then try to get engaged in something that makes you relaxed and feel completely stress free.
Think positively and have a positive mind. Whatever things come in your way handle them with confidence and turn them to positive thinking rather than panicking. For more such tips visit
