I have a pretty short attention span, to be honest, but my boyfriend loves to watch movies. Sometimes, while watching them, I start to have panic attacks. What could cause this?

I use to have that problem when my thyroid was low. But im on thyroid meds now and dont have that problem anymore.
Maybe you had some bad experience and some movie scenes is triggering those fears back on the surface.
If you are having it constantly, go to a doctor. If not, you could find some tips on the net. Here, i found a blog about panic attacks:

Well everyone’s minds function differently and have flukes. I personally flip out and break down when I watch gorey movies or talk about death..sometimes even when I’m someone’s house or even a church..yea I have an anxiety disorder btw. But everyone’s different in that way and you have to find a way to work with it and maybe find the source, cuz u know urself better than anyone else
No, its not weird. But it could be from sitting for so long since you have a short attention span. Maybe when you first start panicking, get up and go to the bathroom, text someone, or something. because of your short attention span, watching movies for three straight hours is too much. So the slightest distraction could help from you breaking down.
