What are some self-help treatments for panic attacks that actually work?

I’m getting panic attacks more and more often and I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried a couple of natural techniques (like breathing stuff) but none of it has worked for me yet.

I can sympathize with your plight (as a former sufferer of panic attacks).

You can help yourself more than you think. It takes some dedication to the right techniques though. There’s a lot of misinformation out there about the effectiveness of alternative therapies, breathing techniques, and yoga.

Based on my own experiences, I was able to mostly control my panic attacks using a technique I heard about on the Internet called the "Move" mental technique. It’s a combination of cognitive and behaviorial conditioning that anyone can do.

My friend told me about it and wrote about some of her experiences and successful recovery using the same "Move".

Hi, I understand your situation very well. If you get into a situation that typically causes you panic, try NOT to anticipate that panic attack. Anticipatory Anxiety is probably one of the easiest ways to have a full-blown panic attack. If you do have a full-blown panic attack, your best solution is to leave the situation that caused the attack; or go to a restroom or outside to breathe deeply and tell yourself that everything is OK. Keep in mind that "fear" is there to help us. If it weren’t for fear, life would be far more dangerous; it is there to keep us alert, aware and safe. Anxiety is fear in excess and is not always rational but it is manageable. You would do well to seek professional assistance to better help you cope and understand your panic attacks, which in turn, will help you overcome them. You may never fully rid of them, but you will absolutely be able to control them. Keep in mind that YOU can control your panic attacks, they CANNOT control you!

Hi! I ordered some Body Calm which really does help for anxiety. I was seeing a psychiatrist my anxiety was so bad. He tried to put me on antidepressants. He also gave me xanax. I would take half & feel out of it. I took the Body Calm & within a half an hr. I was more calm. It’s made out of tart cherry so it’s all natural. Extra calcium & magnesium help, make sure that it also has vitamin d in the supplement. There are many programs on the internet that help. I ordered a program that is called "Panic Away." Go to http://www.onemovetechnique.com. For the Body Calm go to http://www.TRBHealth.com. I hope this helps.

Hello—Panic Attacks are beyond terrible to have. I am 26 years old and I have suffered with severe Panic attacks since I was 13. I first tried the self treatments without the medication but I was so young at the time my family was worried and wanted me on the medicine. But threw the years of having the attacks I have learned how to overcome them (self treatment). Many people feel sudden different types of on coming panic
