Please help! x
Also, this may help for your answer!! – I life with just my dad and i only get them when he goes away for the night out or something – my panics really only happen at night, like if i was to stay over my nans or a mates home.

AWW = [I’m sorry you are going threw this! I’ve recently recovered over panic attacks (anxiety) not so long ago. I had it over 1 year ago (when I was 17 b4 i turned 19)
The best advice I can give you is DON’T TAKE ANY PILLS HE/SHE MAY OFFER YOU. You WILL become depended on them.
just talk to your psychiatrist, tell him why you may think you might of had panic attacks, and he may give you more information as of why you’re having them, and give you methods(treatment) on how to deal, and become cured = D
panic attacks (due to anxiety disorder) may be brought upon you, due to STRESS. Stress being the main reason, and possibility the only (in my opinion) so just calm down, take a deep breathe, and take everything slowly.
you’ll be just fine ^_^
Psychiatrists will help counsel you and figure out what’s causing them. He/she might also prescribe an anti-anxiety prescription.
The Psychiatrist will attempt to find the cause behind the attacks. Panic attacks are more than likely to be a symptom of your inability to cope with something else. The Dr. will find out the reason and deal with that.
Well im seeing a therapist for the same reasons. It really depends on how severe you attacks are. Talking out your problems and stresses in life will help. they will also give you pointers on how to cope with your panic attacks. Some will prescribe meds. My suggestion is to get out there and start walking exercising it helps. but mostly they will ask you questions and listen..
They put me on meds! I’m off the meds now and just go to counseling. I’m trying to control it on my own now, however the medication was helpful when at my worst.
They will take a full history from you, ask you about what you get anxious about, probably refer you for counselling and prescribe some ani anxiety medication to help you.
ATIVAN!
My husband had this it was called an Anxiety Disorder. He was prescribed some medication to alleviate these symptoms.

Anxiety and panic attacks are NOT mental illnesses, they are 100% behavioral conditions, any psychiatrist or psychologist will tell you so. So why do doctors prescribe panic attacks medication to treat a habit? Because most of them don’t have a clue what else to do and it’s a ‘quick fix’ ! PANIC ATTACK MEDICATIONS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!If you are, or intend to take anti-anxiety drugs the following information should help you make an informed decision:
BETA BLOCKERS
Beta blockers can be helpful in controlling the physical symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks, particularly social anxiety and are prescribed to control rapid heartbeat, shaking, trembling and blushing.
Beta blockers tend to have less side effects than other medications but can cause light-headedness, drowsiness, short-term memory loss, decrease in heart rate, insomnia, diarrhea, cold extremities, depression and nightmares. Like all anti-anxiety medication, Beta Blockers are a temporary crutch… one day the crutch has to be removed in order for the patient to solve their anxiety condition.TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS
These medications are used to treat severe depression or depression with anxiety. Some of these anti-depressants are also used to treat obsessional disorders and panic attacks.
Side effects include a dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, difficulty urinating, postural hypo-tension, tachycardia, loss of sex drive, erectile failure, sensitivity to sunlight, weight gain, sedation, sweating, jitteriness, irritation, unusual energy and disturbed sleep patterns. These medications is not a long term solution to anxiety disorders and panic attacks.
Tricyclic antidepressants include:
* Imipramine (Tofranil) panic, depression, generalized anxiety
* Desipramine (Norpramin, Pertofrane and others) panic, depression
* Nortriptyline (Aventyl or Pamelor) panic, depression
* Amitriptyline (Elavil) panic, depression
* Doxepin (Sinequan or Adapin) panic, depression
* Clomipramine (Anafranil) panic, OCD, depression
* Venlafaxine (Effexor) OCD, depression
and there is some other ones, mostly all are antidepressents
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called "St John’s Wort" – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

Well I’m gonna go see my first therapist today at 1 o’clock for severe anxeity and seperation anxeity. And ocd. Ill tell u how it goes. My understanding is they work with u. If u tell them u don’t want meds and want to learn self help techniques they will try that route. But I’m sure for extreme cases they may try to talk u into a med. Which can really help to relax the mind and get u back on track. But meds are highly addictive and when having seperation anxeity can really be bad cuz u don’t want to be without your pills when u try to get off. When my mom leaves to go out of towm for a while I make sure she is always available by phone. That way I don’t get as excited
